Mosswine
The Mosswine are moss-covered pigs that are frequently found in grassy, forested or swampy areas. They are known to have a great appetite for mushrooms. Hunters and marketers commonly observe them to identify an area of Special Mushrooms.
Mosswine are docile by nature, but will attack if provoked by gusts of wind and if kicked or attacked. They are mostly hunted for their mushroom-tracking abilities and their meat. They are among the weakest creatures found in the Monster Hunter series and are killed by most weapons in a single strike. They are the second weakest monster of all time; compared to the Aptonoth, they have lower defense and health.
There is a Mosswine Armor that can be made in MHF, MH2, MHF2 and MHFU.
The Mosswine first appeared in Monster Hunter
Bullfango
The Bullfango are aggressive wild boars. These Pelagii are sometimes found in packs and will charge all intruders once noticed. They are very territorial, and can be a considerable nuisance. Although these creatures aren't much of a challenge for veteran hunters, they can be extremely dangerous to beginners, and can even be a threat to more powerful hunters when they attack in groups. Bullfango can be extremely irritating when fighting a large target monster in its territory; their unexpected charges knock hunters to the ground, canceling the hunter's efforts and leaving him or her at the mercy of the larger monster. There are leaders to the Bullfango pack: larger-sized Bullfango with a few tufts of silver hair known as the Bulldrome, which can be almost two to three times larger than the typical Bullfango.
Aptonoth
The Aptonoth is a common Herbivore monster with dark grey skin and black stripes along its back. It has one large horn/plate on its head. These weak monsters pose no threat to hunters.
These docile creatures are hunted by humans and other monsters for their meat. They always go in groups. When one Aptonoth is threatened, others will run away for safety but the alpha male of the Aptonoth group rarely fights back and then leaves. These weak monsters are at the bottom of the food chain. They migrate in spring-time lands like Forests and Swamps. In MH3 they are much more alert and able to stand up on their hind legs for a while. They have also been observed to lie down when not under threat.
Kelbi
Kelbi first appeared in Monster Hunter. They are small deer-like creatures that prance around on grassy plains. These small monsters are very timid in nature, but will charge a hunter if provoked. Kelbi have brown to green fur coats, with peach or gray spots.
Kelbi are very weak and cause little damage. A single hit with most weapons will kill them.
Most Kelbi are either hunted for Kelbi Horns, Ancient Potions, or Kelbi Hide, for low-level armor. In High rank quests for Monster Hunter Freedom 2 or Monster Hunter Freedom Unite, they are also valuable for High Quality Pelts.
Apceros
The Apceros are herbivores and the evolutionary cousins of the Aptonoth. They resemble the dinosaur Ankylosaurus and have thick armor plates on their heads and backs. They have evolved spiked club-like tails for defense.
Apceros are territorial herbivores and unlike the Aptonoth, they will attack intruders. Their hard shell and thick skin protect them from heat. Normally, they can only be found in hot areas like Deserts and Volcanos. They won't give up fighting until the enemy has fallen or they are dead. Usually, they attack by headbutting and whipping foes with their spiked tails.
Popo
The Popo is a large woolly herbivore found in the Snowy Mountains. They are often hunted for their meat and tongue. "Popo Tongues" are account items in the game which will help you get extra money and Pokke Points when finishing a quest, although these tongues can only be obtained in the Quest and never kept to be taken back to the village. They are very docile creatures and will run when one of their members in a group is under attacked or when a Wyvern enters their area.
They are the main source of food for many predators, especially for Tigrex. During night, you can find Popos where Tigrex is.
Popo also appear in Monster Hunter 3 in the Tundra. They appear virtually unchanged, and are still preyed on by many creatures, including Great Baggi and Deviljho.
Anteka
The Anteka are wild moose-like monsters found in the Snowy Mountains. They are commonly perceived as the snowy region's counterpart to the Kelbi in the forests and jungle regions. Anteka are territorial when provoked and will often retaliate by charging attackers with their antlers. They are prized for their High-quality Pelt and Antlers.
Epioth
The Epioth is a peaceful aquatic herbivore. It is a good source of food for the Lagiacrus and other aquatic predators. Being very timid creatures, they will flee when there is a threat. If one is harassed by a Ludroth, it will fight back, putting itself in harms way to save others.
Rhenoplos
Rhenoplos is a herbivore in the new game Monster Hunter Tri. The Rhenoplos will charge you on sight. It is incredibly annoying if you are fighting a boss, similar to the previous Bullfango. One positive thing about this creature is that it's a good source for Medium Monster Bones. Agnaktor commonly preys on it at the volcano. Like Apceros in previous games, their eggs are highly prized by hunters. If a Rhenoplos runs into a pillar, it will be stunned for a few seconds.
