Cephalos
The Cephalos are younger forms of the sand living wyvern-like Piscines Cephadrome. These minions are surprisingly social, swimming and hunting in packs. They are predatory, and can work together to defeat creatures many times their size. Mildly aggressive, they can become a nuisance when fighting other monsters. The Guild rewards hunters who retrieve Piscine Livers from these monsters.
Cephadrome
Cephadrome are sand swimming creatures of the desert. They have younger minions named Cephalos. Cephadrome have brownish-green skin, which is actually black but appears as such due to the sand packed in between its scales, and yellow eyes. They have a flat, diamond-shaped head, fins, and a tail that help propel themselves through the sand. Cephadrome have only been found in deserts.
The most sensitive parts of their bodies are their stomach and dorsal fin, which can be broken for reward Items. While swimming they have been known to paralyse prey with there dorsal fin but can be easly avoided by using a sonic bomb which will startle them out of the sand because of there very good hearing (like the Plesioth). They are most damaged by thunder elemented weapons. Their caution in fighting causes them to run away frequently by diving into the sand. They use hipchecks, tail swipes, and shoot sand streams to damage its hunters. Like all other piscines, they have a back fin that can be broken. When weak, the back fin flattens down.
Plesioth
Plesioth are large water wyverns commonly found in jungles and desert water caves. Plesioth have shiny blue scales and heads shaped like that of sharks. They are commonly seen in the water, but have adapted legs for hunting. When weakened, the Plesioth's top fin flattens against their back.
Due to its aquatic nature, the Plesioth spends a lot of its time in the water, making it difficult for Blademasters to attack. However, there are a few ways to lure the monster out of its domain. The most common way is throwing a Sonic Bomb; this will make the Plesioth jump with surprise and it will usually leap out of the water afterwards. However, Sonic Bombs don't work 100% of the time, and automatically send the Plesioth into Rage Mode. Gunners can shoot Crag S and Clust S to trigger the same effect. Another method would be to fish it out, using Frogs as bait. This method can only be done if the Plesioth is calm and not engaged in a battle with a hunter.
Green Plesioth
Green Plesioth is a subspecies of Plesioth. Green Plesioths are very similar to the Plesioth in terms of behavior and attacks, yet they differ in color and aggression. They are most seen in the water, but have adapted legs for hunting. When they're weak, the Plesioths' top fin flattens against their back and their head.
Lavasioth
Lavasioth is a Piscine Wyvern with rock hard scales. The body structure resembles a lung fish, and the head bears resemblance to a fish, rather than a shark, like it's counterpart, the Plesioth. Its basic body shape and fins resemble that of a coelacanth. Glowing magma aurates from veins in its body. It lives in volcano zones where it can freely swim in the lava. Its attacks and movements are vaguely similar to those of a Plesioth and Blos-type wyverns. It can fire huge balls of magma at hunters; when these hit the ground, they scatter into smaller molten rocks which can still do considerable damage. Lavasioth can also jump up and slam itself down on the ground - this attack is very powerful. Another attack is the 'Sliding U Turn'. It will slide bodily across the floor towards hunters, but after missing can turn around and slide at hunters again, with pin-point accuracy.
Red Lavasioth
The Red Lavasioth is a male Lavasioth during the mating season. The gray plating of the Lavasioth changes to a vivid red. It debuted in Monster Hunter Frontier alongside the Bright Hypnocatrice.
